Olababy is a baby feeding products company founded in 2012 in Portland, Oregon by Paul Wang and Qiao Lin. We design and make food-grade silicone feeding essentials — training spoons, cups, suction bowls, plates, bottles, and more — for babies making the journey from first foods to independent eating.
The company started with an engineer's frustration. Paul spent over a decade in the semiconductor industry, a field where materials are measured in parts per billion and "good enough" doesn't exist. When he went looking for baby bottles and utensils free of BPA and other harmful chemicals, he couldn't find products built to the standard he was used to — so he decided to make them. Our first product was a simple one: a silicone sleeve that protects glass baby bottles from breaking. It launched in 2012, and hundreds of products have followed.
Qiao leads design. His philosophy from day one: baby products should be safe and innovative, but they should also be beautiful — objects that make mealtime easier for parents and spark curiosity in little ones. If you've noticed that an Olababy spoon looks like a sprout or our bowls look like something from a design museum rather than a toy aisle, that's Qiao.
Every Olababy product must clear four bars before it ships: safe (100% food-grade silicone, independently lab-tested — see our actual test results), innovative (solving a real mealtime problem, not adding to the drawer of stuff you never use), aesthetically pleasing, and genuinely useful for the child's development — designed around how babies actually learn to self-feed.
Our products are designed in Portland and manufactured in China using heat-compression silicone molding, then tested by independent third-party laboratories against both US (ASTM F963, CPSIA) and European (EN 14350, EU 10/2011) standards.

We're a small team, and we like it that way — it keeps us close to the parents who use what we make. Every product idea is brainstormed and evaluated through parent input, and we mean it when we say reach out with ideas.
Closer to home, we donate products to local schools and educational events, and we sponsor a Beaverton-area high school robotics team — because the next generation of engineers has to start somewhere, and we happen to think tinkering is good for kids of every age.
